Start with the children attending that day
After-school clubs bring together different ages, school finishing times and collection arrangements. Tell us more than the total number of children. Explain how many younger and older children will join, when they arrive and whether anyone leaves during the show.
A simple opening helps a mixed group join in. Older children can suggest favourite songs beforehand. Younger children may enjoy short explanations and movements they can copy. Discuss separate sessions if ages or arrival times vary greatly. These are arrangements for your programme, not an automatic part of every package.
The DJ leads the show; your staff supervise
The DJ presents, plays music and invites children to participate. Club staff remain responsible for supervision under your usual childcare arrangements. Agree who watches the entrance, helps individual children and acts as the DJ’s contact.
Watching first is fine. Keep a quiet seat available for anyone needing a break. Discuss requirements around music, lighting and volume beforehand so you can decide together what works. A DiscoShow does not replace individual support.
Will your activity room work?
Check the clear floor space after moving tables and chairs. Allow room for equipment, children and clear routes to the entrance, toilets and collection point. Share measurements, stairs and the distance from the unloading area.
For an outdoor afternoon, agree a usable indoor alternative. Discuss power and shelter in advance; a roof alone may not protect equipment adequately. Use our rainy-day indoor party plan to prepare.
A sample afternoon
This is an example, not a fixed show duration or package promise:
- 14:30: children arrive, have a drink and hear about the afternoon.
- 15:00: the agreed DiscoShow starts, with staff alongside the group.
- 16:00: finish together and have a drink, if a one-hour show was agreed.
- Afterwards: resume your normal club programme and collections.
Arrange setup before children arrive and discuss pack-down. Tell parents how collection during the activity works. A holiday club can also request a morning slot. Your proposal confirms the final times and duration.
What to include in your request
Send the date, address, ages, numbers per group, preferred show times and available space. Explain whether this is after-school care, a holiday activity or the end of a themed programme. Include music preferences and practical requirements.
See how the DiscoShow works and our packages. We agree the arrangements for your club; do not assume the birthday-party tariff applies. You book a DJ from the team, not a guaranteed individual.
Completing your booking
Check your date and agree internally who can book and pay. If the date is immediately available, book and pay the full amount through Mollie. If availability is confirmed later, you have 24 hours to book and pay. There are no unpaid date holds or payment by invoice afterwards.
